AMAS XV - The Fifteenth Biennial Symposium

Brighton Savoy, Victoria, 13th - 15th February 2019
Workshops on the 11th and 12th of February

Following the past successes of AMAS meetings, we invite you to Melbourne for the fifteenth AMAS symposium. The meeting will be held at the Brighton Savoy, in Brighton, Victoria.

The aim of the Symposium is to provide a forum where participants can discuss microanalysis and imaging, with emphasis on applications, practical solutions, and recent advancements in techniques.

We strongly encourage you to present recent work using microscopy, microanalytical and microdiffraction techniques. The success of the meeting is entirely dependent on the quality (and quantity) of presentations.

Themes for special sessions in this symposium include:

  • 51st anniversary of the Conference on Soft X-ray Band Spectra and the Electronic Structure of Metals and Materials, held at the University of Strathclyde, 1967
  • Microanalysis in planetary science
  • Advances in transmission electron microscopy and related spectroscopies
  • Cathodoluminescence spectroscopy and imaging

Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper to a special AMAS XV edition of Microscopy and Microanalysis.

Oral presentations

It is expected that all contributed presentations at AMAS XV will take the form of an oral presentation with a 15-20 minute duration (including questions).

A series of workshops prior to the symposium have been arranged to review and discuss the state of the art in analytical microscopy and microanalysis.
